Qing Jin
Qing Jin is a PhD student in the Food Science and Technology department at Virginia Tech and a fellow with the Water INTERface IGEP. She comes to Virginia Tech after obtaining an M.S. degree in Food Biotechnology from China Agricultural University and an B.S. in Food Science and Engineering from Hainan University. Her research at VT is focused on process design and techno-economic analysis of the utilization of food and agricultural by-products for the generation of green chemicals, bio-materials, and biofuels to improve the sustainability of the food production chain. Qing grew up in China and enjoys hiking, swimming, and drawing in her free time. After graduating, she hopes to either continue on in academia in a faculty position or continue working as a researcher.
