Wenchuo Yao
Wenchuo Yao is a PhD student in the Civil and Environmental Engineering department at Virginia Tech and a fellow with the Water INTERface IGEP. She previously completed her M.S. in Civil Engineering at VT after receiving a B.S. in Environmental Engineering at the University of Science & Technology Beijing. Wenchuo’s research focuses on two main topics: 1) emissions of inorganic metals from ultrasonic humidifiers and effects of drinking water quality on indoor air quality and 2) human inhalation and ingestion exposure and risk to inorganic metals at the water-air interface. Originally from Nanning, China, Wenchuo enjoys reading, watching movies and documentaries, and tending to her plants in her free time. After graduating, Wenchuo hopes to continue pursuing research in risk assessment of environmental exposure with a focus on indoor air and drinking water quality.
